The move toward 800 VDC distribution marks a pivotal shift in Artificial Intelligence Data Center (AIDC) infrastructure, where efficiency, thermal performance, and power density are increasingly determined by magnetic components. 



As modern power systems transition from multi-stage AC conversion to streamlined DC architectures, magnetics play a central role in enabling reliable rectification, DC-DC conversion, and voltage step-down pathways


This architectural shift is being advanced through industry-wide efforts to define open, interoperable power infrastructure, including work within the Open Compute Project ecosystem, where hyperscalers, power equipment providers, and component suppliers are aligning around next-generation DC data center standards.
